My Story

Let's start with why I picked "Hidden JEMS" as my company name. Although popular to many beliefs there are no gems hidden in my products, any crystals that are included will be placed on top so you can enjoy them right away. As far as "JEM", it is a family name, my grandfathers initials to be exact. Also when I was a little girl my mother used to own a salon named. You guessed it "JEMS", So I am continuing the tradition. The "Hidden" is for the little country store I'm working on opening on an old back road because the prettiest diamonds are usually the ones found in the rough and need to be searched for. 

So, by now you are probably wondering "Why Candles?" and more specifically "Why such a big emphasis on Non-Toxic Products. At a very young age I started suffering from "chronic migraines" with no real understanding as to what was causing them. Once I got older and tired of doctors basically telling me to just deal with it and they would prescribe migraine medication to mask the problem. I decided to take matters into my own hands. I started paying more attention to the everyday things that I believed were causing these "chronic migraines". One thing I did pretty much every day was burning my favorite candle (at the time) for at least an hour or two. It took me a significantly longer time than I'd like to admit to realize that not long after I lit it, I would begin to get a headache that would later turn into a migraine. After realizing this I continued my research and was shocked to find just how many harmful toxins and known carcinogens were in most candles on the market. Once I fully realized the full magnitude of how bad this truly was for my body and overall wellbeing, I searched high and low for companies that wanted to provide a safer alternative for candle lovers like myself.

Fastforward to the present day. I make sure all my bases that I use for each one of my products are Nontoxic, have no parabens and are SLS & SLES free. This includes all of my fragrance oils.  I'm beyond happy to report that at any given time my line includes up to 100 different fragrances. The only fragrances that continue to give me a headache are ones that include cinnamon, and that's only because I am highly allergic to cinnamon. Since creating this product line and company I have been able to replace just a few products in my everyday life. Allowing me to live a significantly happier and healthier lifestyle. 

Hidden JEMS will continue to strive to have only the highest quality ingredients in all of our products. By doing this we can make sure we help as many people as possible live a happier healthier lifestyle while being able to enjoy soothing aromas without any worry of negative impacts on their health.
